The strength calculation of the rack needs to consider both bending strength and shear strength. Bending strength refers to the load-bearing capacity of a rack in both tensile and bending states, which can be calculated using methods such as rectangle and triangle. Shear strength refers to the load-bearing capacity of a rack fracture, and its calculation should follow relevant standards such as ISO.

The machining of gear racks can be carried out through processes such as turning and grinding, and the quality and accuracy largely depend on the machining process. The inspection of the rack should include errors in tooth pitch and tooth height, tooth surface roughness, and the accuracy of the rack.
